Easy combination of devices from both networks

CANview Profibus DP enables the easy exchange of data between a CAN network and a Profibus DP network. In this way, devices from these two bus systems can easily be combined to form a unique hybrid network. Excellent utilization options are also possible for PLCcontrolled machines and systems. For example, low-cost CAN sensors or actuators can be connected to a PLC using the Profibus DP interface. CANview Profibus DP acts as a modular Profibus DP V0 slave and supports all standard baud rates on the Profibus side, and all standard and even customer specific baud rates on the CAN side. In addition to CAN communication on Layer 2, support for other CAN protocols (such as CANopen®, J1939, CAN Kingdom, DeviceNet, customer-specific protocols) can be implemented on request.

EMC-proof

Thanks to its EMC-proof design, CANview Profibus DP is suitable for deployment in rugged environments. The CAN side and the Profibus DP side are electrically isolated from each other. CANview Profibus DP is delivered in a robust aluminum housing.

Adaptable firmware

The firmware is available as a customized version and can easily be updated with the included flash tool. The configuration of CANview Profibus DP is performed via CAN with the CANview Profibus Configurator software and a CANview USB or via Profibus DP using PLC programming software such as STEP 7®. Additionally, GSD files for PLC systems are offered for integration with existing systems.
