Rigid foam is characterized by closed cells and absence of flex. Varying the density can alter mechanical properties to meet specific applications.
Rigid foam (also called structural foam) is ideal for heat insulation and shock absorption. It can be injected on its own, receive inserts or be injected in a sandwich for filling. We usually use it for technical, insulation and protection parts.
Rigid foam can also be painted painting and successfully passes the most demanding fire resistance tests (FAR25 853b at 60'', ABD0031…).
Structural rigid foam is replacing parts made from composite honeycombs as it provides economic, weight-saving and complex shape solutions.
By associating a rigid foam with a skin foam we created a dual component complex which combines mechanical strength with comfort and good looks.
