The DP-049 ASI series in situ dilution probe is designed to function as a sample packaging and transport system, the dilution probe performs four essential functions to prepare for the sampling of emission gases (conduit or process ) so that it can be measured accurately. and precisely by the analyzer (usually an “ambient level” analyzer). The system uses an air vacuum that extracts a continuous and precise low flow sample from the source gas stream. It is then passed consecutively through coarse and fine particle filters, a preselected glass or metal orifice, and diluted with motive air in the probe vacuum. This process has now reduced the dew point of the source gas sample to a level below that of ambient air. He prepared the often hot, humid, sticky, and particle-laden sample, so that it could be transported (at positive pressure) via an unheated umbilical line to the analyzer, up to 100m away .
