EFS is a designer and manufacturer of IIOT solutions. In particular, by way of example, EFS has developed and produced the instrumented wheel, a solution for measuring wear on a tunnel boring machine cutting head.

This autonomous and wireless electronic equipment is encapsulated in the customer wheel (resinated and placed under the metal parts).

A set of solutions are deployed, in order to overcome harsh environment such as: falling gravel and pebbles on the continuous dial, hot water jets under pressure with detergents and temperature which can reach 100° C.

Data transmission by radio, including in the event of partial immersion, the battery life adapted to the mechanical life of the wheel as well as the contactless identification of the wheel for tracking on the cutting head are developed by E.F.S. to avoid any electrical connection and any damage due to the constrained environment.
