Milkrun train operational principles The operational principle of the Storoll Milkrun train is to quickly remove and replace Platforms in any Receiving Trailer, whatever its order in train. A Milkrun train fosters a Just In Time production mode.
In the warehouse, the Platforms are loaded with forklift trucks and then manually slided in a Receiving Trailer.
Then, the forklift operator drives the train at delivery point to the assembly line supply.
At the assembly line, the operator manually removes a “full” Platform from the train (he “slides” it) and interchanges it against an “empty” one, either immediately or to his return.
Note : It is possible and easy to remove a Platform from a Receiving Trailer without replacing it with another one, whatever the location of the Receiving Trailer in the train
