Optocoupler modules

Optocouplers have the same function as relays: they are used for the galvanic separation between signals. Optocouplers are electronic relays without movable components.

Therefore they react immediately i.e. their response time is very short. They are long-lasting components because they are not subjected to mechanical wear.

Due to their short response time, optocoupler modules may for example be used as galvanic insulation for count-up counters up to 1.5 MHz.

The Woertz range also comprises SnapLine terminals with integrated optocouplers, which are only 5.08 mm wide and have exactly the same shape as our three level installation terminals (see menu SnapLine): - they prove to be ideal when retrofitting some installations with restricted space.
