Self ejecting devices protect the electrical installation when a mobile appliance is moved without disconnecting the plugs and socket-outlets. For all applications, there is an adequate mechanism, available as an otpional feature to a socket-outlet or as an installation accessory to an inlet. The coupler socket is maintained into the inlet thanks to a latch. This shark's fin latch is mechanically clamped to the flexible cable by a stainless steel tension cord. When the mobile appliance is moved a tension on the flexible cable automatically lifts the retaining latch of the socket-outlet and releases the coupler socket. Equipment are disconnected on load for user and appliance safety.
The plugs and socket-outlets compatible with these devices are Marechal decontactors from 20 to 250 A with a load break capacity. Automatically watertight, resistant to shocks, UV and harsh temperatures : from -40 °C to +60 °C, they are robust. Thanks to their silver nickel butt contacts technology, they resist to corrosion and avoid frictions between contacts for a high electrical peformance.
Self-ejecting devices are used in many applications : road transport vehicles, electric boats, mobile food trollies or refrigerating in food industry, cafeterias, hospitals or electrical equipment boxes located in vulnerable places (toll station)

A voluntary scheme for certification of products according to international standards relating to equipment for use in explosive atmospheres was introduced under the aegis of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).
IECEx certificates of conformity are issued by approved IECEx certification bodies and attest that:
As a safety guarantee, the objectives of IECEx are to facilitate international trade in Ex equipment and it is also a way for manufacturers to obtain local national certification of both all IECEx member countries: Australia, South Africa, South Korea, New Zealand, Russia, China, United-States, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Singapore…and non-member countries in the scheme of certification.
Marechal Electric ATEX decontactors ranges: DXN1 (20 A), DXN3 (32 A) and DXN6 (63 A), DX1 (20 A), DX3 (32 A), DX6 (63 A), DX9 (125 A) and DX2 (200 A) have already been certified.

Due to salt combined with extreme climatic conditions, marine applications are harsh environments.
Marechal Electric meets all the needs required by it and passed all test for Marine certification by Bureau Veritas for the industrial products: DSN1 (20 A), DSN3 (32 A), DSN6 (63 A) and SP (700 A) and Ex proof plugs and sockets: DXN1 (20 A), DXN3 (32 A), DXN6 (63 A) and SPeX (680 A).
These products can be used in all applications: steel ships, yachts and offshore platforms.
Their casings are made with non-flammable plastic materials. Automatically watertight, they resist to shocks, vibrations, and high temperatures: from -40 ° to +60 °.
Marechal plugs and sockets are ideally suited for humid and corrosive environments.

Due to on-going risk of physical injuries in industries, health and safety requirements in harsh environments are more and more stringent. All equipments used in hazardous areas have to comply with 2006/95/CE ATEX Directive.
Marechal decontactors (plugs and socket-outlets with integral switching) are at the cutting edge of technology and are among the first to comply with this normative evolution. The DX1 (20 A), DX3 (32 A), DX6 (63 A), DX9 (125 A), DX2 (200 A), DXN1 (20 A), DXN3 (32 A) and DXN6 (63 A) products passed all tests successfully required by following standards:
- EN 60079-0 edition 2006
- EN 60079-1 edition 2007
- EN 60079-7 edition 2007
- EN 61241-0 edition 2006
- EN 61241-1 edition 2004
The old standards, EN 50014, EN 50018, EN 50019, EN 50281-1-1, are no more applicable.
Thanks to their explosion-proof casings and the increased safety, the products have now been classified as having a “de” protection mode. Ideally suited for explosive atmospheres in zones 1 & 2 (gas) and zones 21 & 22 (dust), they withstand extreme temperatures: -40 °C to +60 °C.

Due to hydrogen sulfide gases usually found in wastewater environments and because of temperature changes, traditional plugs do not resist in this harsh environment.
The DSN decontactor from Marechal Electric (20 A to 63 A) is the ideal plug and socket for connecting submersible pumps. Thanks to its load-break switch capability, save equipment replacement times without any safety compromise, the change-over is reduced to a simple mechanical operation with the attendant cost savings. It is automatically IP66/IP67 watertight (water jet, temporary immersion) as soon as the plug is inserted. Marechal’s advanced technology with silver-nickel butt contacts guarantees superior electrical performance whilst its glass fibre-reinforced polyester casings provide excellent resistance to corrosion, shocks (IK08) and extreme temperatures : from -40 °C to 60 °C. Its AC-23 load break switch capability allows users to replace equipment safely even without electrician on site.

With a Rettbox® or Rettbox®-air installed on an emergency vehicle, asset damage caused by driving off prior to disconnecting the charger power or compressed air can be avoided.
The Rettbox®, a watertight enclosure with power inlet, is the on-board connection point for parked vehicles. Rettbox®-air offers a compressed air feed as well. When the vehicle ignition is activated to drive to an incident, an electric pulse ejects the coupler socket from the Rettbox® housing without any need to disconnect manually.
Its lid drops automatically to close the unit protecting the inlet from road dirt.
The socket is a Marechal decontactor type using spring-loaded butt type contacts. It is this technology that enables a rapid, frictionless and load-break disconnection.
The system is robust and reliable. For this reason the Rettbox® has been installed in its thousands across Europe in fire engines, emergency ambulances and police vehicles.
Its compact design allows easy retro-fitting to existing vehicles as well as first-fit into new vehicles. The Rettbox®-air is available for 12V, 24V, 230V as well as 400V for the Rettbox® at 20A and 32A ratings. Compressed air versions offer up to 13bar.
