The news of NEWSTEO

Newsteo has obtained accreditation from Cofrac for calibration, in accordance with standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025, 2017 version

juillet 04, 2019

Following an audit carried out in May 2019, Cofrac, (The French Accreditation Committee) announced today that Newsteo has obtained its accreditation for calibration of the temperature measuring chain in accordance with standard NF EN ISO/IEC 17025, version 2017 (Accreditation no. 2-6637, made available online at www.cofrac.fr).
Cofrac is the french equivalent of the british UKAS

“The use and evolution of technology requires measurements that are increasingly complex and reliable. Regulations, and the needs of our customers, lead us to control and constantly improve our measuring processes and monitoring devices. With this in mind, the 2017 version of the NF EN ISO 17025 standard represents an international reference for the recognition of the technical and organisational skills of calibration and testing labs. This accreditation demonstrates the robustness of our calibration methods and our ability to provide relevant results. It’s therefore a guarantee for our customers in France and in Europe, to whom we can now provide Calibration certificates and Verification certificates under our Cofrac accreditation”,

as Lionel Giorgi, Newsteo Director of Metrology and Quality, and former Metrology Officer for EFS (French Blood Agency) points out.

Always demanding higher quality.

Given that accreditation is based on the latest version of the standard, dating from 2017, customers are therefore assured that they benefit from the most recent requirements, in particular in terms of confidentiality and impartiality.

The initial accreditation will be supplemented by yearly audits performed by independent auditors mandated by the Cofrac. This is yet again a guarantee of quality for our customers, who are certain that the quality and technical processes set up by Newsteo will be maintained over time.

A wider range of services

Newsteo offers temperature recorders for many sectors of activity, such as in pharmacy, medical and agrifood, which make it possible to ensure traceability of the cold chain and send real-time alerts in the event that set thresholds are surpassed. The requirements from standards and regulations applicable in these fields necessitates that measuring instruments undergo calibration initially at the time of purchase, and periodically thereafter.

Since 2015, the Newsteo metrology laboratory has already performed thousands of calibrations. Henceforth, the company will broaden the range of services it offers customers by proposing calibrations performed under its Cofrac accreditation.

Newsteo announces the arrival of its latest wireless data logger

juin 12, 2019

Temperature recorder
Newsteo, designer and manufacturer of connected sensors, a precursor to the Internet of Things, launches the LOM56, latest of its wireless temperature data loggers. This data logger, with its compact and robust design, complements the Newsteo temperature monitoring range dedicated to the protection of sensitive products.

The LOM56 is intended for environments in which temperature tracking plays a crucial role, particularly in the pharmaceutical and food industries. It is designed to monitor the temperature in the manufacturing, storage or transport areas. The LOM56 are located in the areas to be monitored (a simple refrigerator, a several thousand square meters warehouse, a refrigerated truck) and send the measurements by radio to an Ethernet, WIFI or 3G / 4G gateway. All gateways then transfer the data to the Newsteo Cloud.

Thanks to the system architecture, the user ensures:

- the safeguard of its thermosensitive goods: an alert is immediately sent by mail or text message in case the threshold is exceeded (for example, in the pharmaceutical storage, 2 ° C / 8 ° C)
- to be in compliance with the quality and standards in force thanks to the traceability of the cold chain. The automatic transfer of measurements allows no forgetting and all the data is accessible in the Newsteo Cloud.
- a flexible and fast installation and maintenance thanks to an optimised radio range transmission of the measurements
"The adoption of Newsteo’s solution, based on the LOM56 radio temperature loggers and the measurements accessible from anywhere in the Cloud, ensure a fast ROI” adds Norbert Weihrauch, Germany Country Manager of Newsteo. "Our customers protect and sometimes save valuable goods thanks to the alerts they receive."

Main technical characteristics:
- Measuring range: -40 ° C to + 70 ° C
- Accuracy: 0.3 ° C
- Waterproofness: IP67
- Autonomy: up to 4 years
- Radio transmission: 868 MHz
- Integrated hook for a quick fixing

Newsteo launches it new gateway Radio to Ethernet / WiFi

avril 23, 2019

Newsteo, designer and manufacturer of connected sensors, a precursor to the Internet of Things, launches its new Ethernet Wi-Fi Gateway, the Newsteo CUB12.
The Newsteo CUB12 joins the ranks of gateways offered by Newsteo and establishes the brand’s reputation in terms of technological advances in the field of connected objects.
The Newsteo solution is based on 3 building blocks:
  • One of the largest ranges of wireless loggers on the market, multi-sensor capability (temperature, humidity, impact measurement…). Installed close to the goods to be monitored, they gather and store the measurements that are sent automatically by radio to a gateway
  • The gateways then transmit the measurements by Ethernet, Wi-Fi or via the 3G/4G network to the Newsteo Cloud
  • The Newsteo Cloud: the digital space hosted on the Internet. Users access it when they would like to view the data from their loggers. The secure customer interface is accessible from anywhere at the address: www.newsteo-webmonitor.com.
In practice, the 4 x 32 bits @ 1.2 GHz processor, powerful and quick, enables data to be managed in real time and is optimized, to perform multiple tasks at once. The Newsteo CUB12 is the first in its generation to be equipped with a display, facilitating installation when the CUB is connected, and during start-up of the data loggers. Next, measurements can be controlled visually on the CUB12 and not simply from the software.

Another new feature included with the release of the CUB 12 is its ability toconnect to the Wi-Fi network and not solely to the Ethernet as was the case of its predecessors. An integration to Wi-Fi infrastructures is therefore possible.

Furthermore, through the CUB 12, Newsteo provides its customers an improvement in aesthetics, with a sleek product design and greater resistance (aluminium housing).

Last but not least, the audible and visual alarms which are programmable directly from the Newsteo CUB12 is a feature that is appreciated in small installations. This allows people around the device to be alerted in the event that the threshold has been surpassed; for example, in pharmacy dispensaries that store heat-sensitive products in refrigerated chambers.

« Thanks to this new product, we can offer our customers a two-folder solution for monitoring : in situ and instantaneous for the people present, and remote on our cloud for people off site, to ensure traceability and historisation of all measurements » adds Franck Przysiek, Newsteo's Technical Director.
