SOCLEMA introduces the TAR Protocol, an automated sampling system designed to analyze tars produced by gasification through pyrolysis, in full compliance with the European reference protocol for tar characterization in syngas.
This solution industrializes a laboratory method by isolating organic contaminants (BTEX, PAHs, phenol, thiophene, etc.) through a sequence of heated and then cooled flasks, ensuring controlled condensation.

The system combines a Peltier-type cooling module (down to –20 °C) with a heating block (+40 °C), providing fine temperature regulation without the need for dry ice.
It operates within a temperature range of 0 °C to +200 °C, even under demanding industrial conditions.
The chambers, machined from a solid aluminum block, ensure excellent thermal conductivity, while a mass flow controller allows precise flow adjustment (0.5 to 5 Nl/min) and reliable monitoring of transferred volume.

Easy to operate via a touchscreen interface, the TAR Protocol features quick-connect fittings for fluid connections and a removable section for convenient sample transport.
The system is designed for easy maintenance and is available in multiple configurations to suit specific environments — laboratory, industrial site, or ATEX (enhanced safety) areas.

This innovative wastewater treatment plant recovers its sludge through methanization. The resulting biogas is then purified into biomethane and injected into the gas grid.

In this process, odorization is a key step to ensure the safe transport and use of biomethane.

The supplied solution stands out by:

• A design tailored to small-scale methanization units and low production flows (< 25 Nm³/h),

• Compliance with regulatory requirements, with installation in ATEX Zone 1,

• Integration in a heated, robust cabinet, built to withstand outdoor conditions in any environment.

This achievement fully reflects our ability to deliver modular and proven solutions that meet the needs of both municipalities and industrial operators, in diverse applications such as wastewater treatment plants, bioNGV stations, or waste treatment facilities.

Recently, we designed and delivered a liquid CO₂ sampling solution for a methanization unit:

• Design and supply of a complete solution, from the sampling point to the gas analysis

• 2 sampling points

• Enclosures located close to the tapping points: sample remains unaltered before vaporization

• Heated pressure regulator inside the enclosures: homogeneous vaporization of the sample, ensuring integrity

• Minimized volumes: optimized response time

• Reliable transfer to the analyzer: accurate & representative measurements
