VELOX establishes joint venture in China

On January 22nd 2013 VELOX GmbH, a European leader in the supply and marketing of raw material specialities, established a joint venture with its Chinese partner Shanghai Brightfield Co. Ltd.. The Joint Venture is called VELOX China Ltd and is based in Shanghai.

The aim of the new company is to intensify relationships with local Chinese trading partners and to scout for Chinese raw material specialities for distribution in Europe and North America. In addition, VELOX China will sell selected raw materials from worldwide suppliers to its customer base in China.

Robert Zeppelin, General Manager of VELOX China comments: "VELOX has been maintaining its contacts for 20 years now with many customers and suppliers in China. The creation of VELOX China is an excellent basis for further expansion of our business activities in the most important raw material procurement market of the future."

VELOX expands portfolio to include composites product range

On 01.10.2012 VELOX acquires the composites business of the Belgian Azelis Group. At the time of acquisition this Azelis business area comprises some 50 employees in 12 European countries and reports turnover of around € 50 million.

VELOX GmbH is one of the leading European distributors of raw material specialities for the plastics, rubber and paints & inks industries. The composites business is a logical complement to VELOX’current product portfolio and provides the group with market entry into new countries, in particular the Scandinavian markets. The acquisition also complements VELOX’ existing business in other countries such as France, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic and significantly strengthens the sales teams already active there.

VELOX is also acquiring numerous distribution contracts with globally renowned composites materials manufacturers. “We very much look forward to working and growing together with our new providers, and would like to thank them for the trust they have placed in us”, says François Minec, General Manager at VELOX.
