SATO Corporation, publicly listed on the first section of Tokyo Stock Exchange in Japan, was founded in 1940 by the late Chairman, Yo Sato. From the beginning, it has been a pioneer introducing one of the first hand labellers in 1962. In 1974, SATO also developed the world's first printer capable of printing barcodes and OCR characters.
