These thermocouples are jacketed and are used to measure the surface temperature of boiler tubes (external surface of the tubes).

The hot weld of the thermocouple can be delivered flat to weld directly onto the side of the tube.

We recommend using thermocouples with hot points welded onto a metal plate that is harmonious with the metal of the tubes.

In this way, the plate can be welded to the tube and the hot weld Is protected.

The dilation of the tubes means it is necessary to compensate for movement through dilation rings.

The number and diameter of the dilation rings is essential to the life of the «skin point ». This is why it's important to know the maximum dilation for each tube's surface.

The type of jacketing depends of the temperature and the environment (oxidizing or reductive).
