Surface energy check before bonding

Bond strength never depends on a single parameter. It relies on the right balance between the material, the chosen adhesive and, above all, surface preparation.

Very often, the root cause is linked to the surface condition: surface energy that is too low, contamination, material variability or insufficient preparation.
As a result, adhesion becomes inconsistent, leading to rework, scrap or returns.

To prevent these issues, STTS supports pre-bonding validation by measuring surface energy (surface tension) and helping interpret the results.
Depending on the need, the evaluation is carried out using test inks (measurement reagents) or a goniometer (contact angle measurement).

The goal is simple: characterize the initial condition, compare before/after surface preparation, and define a target level consistent with the application and industrial constraints.
