Boruvit glass powder acts as a functional filler in coatings due to its transparency, which remains neutral towards any pigmentation. It ensures a longer life for the coating due to the absorption of UV radiation. As a mechanically hard filler, it increases scratch resistance and the particle shape improves the adhesion and co-adhesion of coatings. Boruvit is free of discolouring impurities.
It has low water and oil absorption which helps to reduce formulation costs. Due to its chemical composition, this filler is resistant to corrosion and climatic conditions. This filler is mainly used in the formulation of transparent wood varnishes and paints with a very high corrosion resistance. Due to its high mechanical strength, Boruvit is used in coatings for extreme conditions of use such as boat hulls and truck containers.
