Greene, Tweed's L Rings are the perfect solution for applications requiring tolerance to intense pressure. Under pressure, the resilient L-shaped elastomeric sealing element deforms, transmitting hydraulic pressure that causes radial swelling or expansion of the flange under the backup ring.

The skive cut in the backup permits instantaneous radial movement into positive contact to close the clearance gap before any extrusion can occur. The Greene, Tweed L Ring is available for no- and one-backup glands.
