Optical Components

Sophisticated optical components of high accuracy are among our specialties.

We manufacture with state of the art trains of CNC-machines, we grind, polish, shape and center.

Our materials are optical glass, glass ceramics, fused silica, filter glass and special materials.

Our thin film technologies cover PVD (hot/cold/plasma-supported) sputtering and Sol-Gel-Dipping.

Precision polishing of surfaces will be done by

• computer controlled surface polishing
• Ion-beam figuring
• Magneto-rheological finishing

   

  Highlights in manufacturing and technology:

   

   

• glass ceramics and ceramics processing (e.g. Zerodur, SiSiC)
• surface fine polishing with MRF® 750P2 for correction of large plano optics, roboter polishing or Ion beam figuring
• the combination of MRF® and SSI® has made Berliner Glas one of the few companies offering measurement and correction of large cylindrical surfaces.
