The security design described here is similar to the one described in the Anti-Cloning of a Peripheral use case. However, it adds several more features:
The country identity of both peripheral (phone, etc.) and host (PBX, etc.) must match. The PKI security scheme is used because the host also contains secure information (i.e., in the form of a certificate for the country code)The certificate in both security chips can be updated to change the country code. (They both need the root certificate for this to be done securely.) The Board ID™ Starter Kit includes a demo that shows how the Board ID chip can be used to:Ensure that a host system (wireless phone system PBX, etc.) in a particular country will only work with a device (wireless/VoIP phone, etc.) designated for use in that country.Ensure that a host system will only work with a valid device, not a cloneEnable remote updates that allow each device to be used in a different country
