In order to reduce the environmental impact of materials Levosil has developed a range of desiccant bags that are 100% plastic-free, compostable, FSC ® certified and with a natural desiccant: clay.
• 100% plastic free and reduced ecological footprint
The envelope of the sachet is 100% cellulose and bioplastic.
The desiccant material is of natural origin and compared to silica gel has less impact on the energy consumption to produce it.
• 100% dustproof
The envelope of the sachet is permeable to water vapor but without the release of dust (in accordance with technical standard DIN 55473): it can therefore be used in the primary packaging of sensitive products.
• Compostable
The desiccant bag is compostable (tested in accordance with ISO 16929: 2013, EN13432, HEAVY METALS Annex A1 of EN 13432 standards).
Desiccant Clay (CAS # 1302-78-29) is a calcium bentonite that adsorbs moisture.
The clay conforms to technical standards DIN 55473, MIL 3464E and NFH00320.
As clay is a mineral product, it is exempt from the REACH registration obligation and it is also a completely natural substance and without any additives (eg dimethyl fumarate).
The FSC ® paper envelope ensures traceability of material sourced from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The envelope of the bag is also certified “OK Compost” (Art. Num. O 13-1144-A by Vinçotte).
