Pergam's new Laser Methane Ammonia (LMA) portable laser spectrometer is based on the principle of absorption by ammonia (NH3) molecules of the light energy from its class 1, 10mW infrared laser.
It can detect leaks of this colorless, irritating gas, which is highly dangerous above a certain dose.

The LMA (full reference LA1N03N-TGA) measures ammonia levels from 1 to 50,000 ppmxm in a tenth of a second, with an accuracy of + or -10% at a distance of between 50cm and 30m.

Its green pointing laser (5mw, class 3R) makes it easy to visually identify where the measurement laser is pointing, invisible to the naked eye. Operating in ambient temperatures from -17°C to +50°C and relative humidity from 30 to 90%, this IP54-rated portable spectrometer - CE and RoHS compliant - is a robust, ergonomic and easy-to-use field instrument.

Compact (137mm×67mm×44mm), lightweight (370g) and with an autonomy of 8 hours thanks to its Lithium-ion battery rechargeable via a USB-C plug, it is equipped on its edge with green, orange and red color LEDs and an audible alarm enabling the user to immediately measure the danger linked to ammonia concentration.

The LMA is particularly well-suited to the refrigeration, water treatment, metal treatment and petrochemical industries, including fertilizer manufacturers, as well as to inspection and verification companies in the above-mentioned industries.
