Based on the principle of absorption by methane molecules of light energy from a class 1 SWIR 1.653 micron wavelength laser, Pergam's new LaserMethane Smart portable laser spectrometer (LM Smart) offers enhanced features and performance over the previous LM mini generation.

The LM Smart can measure methane levels from 1 to 50,000 ppmxm in a tenth of a second, with an accuracy of + or -10% over a distance of 50cm to 30m. Its green pointing laser (class 3R) makes it easy to spot where the measurement laser is pointing, invisible to the naked eye.

Operating from -17°C to +40°C, this portable IP54 spectrometer - CE, RoHS and ATEX zone 2 (II3 1G) compliant - is a robust, ergonomic and easy-to-use field instrument.

Equipped with a touch screen, SD card and camera to capture the image of the scene where a methane concentration peak has been detected, the LM smart can send time-stamped data directly to the cloud via Android or iOS.

Two versions are available with or without Bluetooth respectively:
- LM2B03E SBA
- or LM2B03E-SNA.

The LM Smart is particularly well suited to the gas industry:
- Natural gas transmission and distribution network operators, and operators of compressor stations,
- LNG terminals and storage sites,
- Biomethanization units, landfill monitoring,
- Oil and gas production and petrochemicals,
- Inspection and verification companies in the above sectors
