Steam traced tubing bundles are engineered systems designed to maintain or elevate the temperature of process fluids within tubing. These bundles consist of process tubing wrapped with insulation and one or more steam tubes, all encased in a protective jacket. The steam tubes transfer heat to the process medium inside the tubing, ensuring precise temperature control.

Light steam traced tubing features an insulating layer between the steam tracer and the process tube. This configuration reduces direct heat transfer, allowing for a more controlled and gradual increase in temperature.

Light steam tracing is typically used for freeze protection of instrument impulse lines and process lines for analyzers. It is also effective in maintaining low process temperatures over extended lengths, making it ideal for situations where high temperatures are not required but protection against freezing or slight warming is necessary.

The insulation layer in light tracing systems provides protection over longer distances without overheating the process fluid. This approach is energy-efficient and cost-effective for applications requiring moderate heat.
